Thar & Kea
The Shared Adventures Collection is an anthology of stories, told through paint, of adventures from throughout New Zealand, shared by fellow kiwis who love to explore, view the sights, and tell stories. We are adventurers. We feel most alive when we chase waterfalls, beaches, rivers, and lakes. We climb mountains, watch birds, hop over rocks, discover new places, or sometimes even visit one of those insta-famous spots.
This collection of artworks are of moments collected by myself and others from our adventures. I will share more about this specific artwork nearer the bottom of the page, should you like to hear about it. But first, I invite you to enjoy the artwork without reading those words, and let it remind you of one of your own adventures, or let it inspire another one.

About this artwork:
This adventure is by Jimmy Peter in South Westland.
Here’s what he had to say about it:
“That was day 6 of 10 days chasing thar and chamois in South Westland, crossing the copeland river to explore new country. We spent the next 6 hours climbing through the sub alpine jungle to reach some open ground beside Strauchon Glacier where we set up camp in the frozen valley filled with shrills of kea.”
This epic adventure sounds freeeezing! I can’t say I’ve been on any adventures as hard-core as this one, myself, but it certainly sounds like one hell of a rewarding experience!
